Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is considering selling young midfielder Matteo Guendouzi in the summer. The midfielder has earned praise from fans and critics since moving to the club last season.
The midfielder was alleged to have used salary differences to taunt Brighton players. He was also seen grabbing Maupay’s throat during the match. Guendouzi did not face any disciplinary action for his conduct but it is reported that manager Arteta is not impressed by his players’ actions.
Maupay stated after the match that the French international needs to learn humility. A statement that was supported by former Hammers defender Mathew Upson. The former England international stated that Guendouzi’s arrogance was seen by all in the 2-1 loss against Brighton.
It is also reported that the French midfielder has also been causing problems in training as well. A number of French clubs are said to be interested in his services including Lyon and Lille.
Guendouzi is regarded as a young midfielder with the potential to become a world-class performer. He has developed his game since moving to England is valued at around £20 million.
Meanwhile, sources close to the player have revealed that he will consider offers from other clubs, but he will choose to fight for his place. Guendouzi enjoyed a good run in the team under former manager Unai Emery. But he has failed to play regularly under new manager Arteta. It is reported that Arteta is not a fan of the players off the pitch behavior.
